Rapid Climate Vulnerability Assessment Workshop

The Strengthening Investments in Gender-Responsive Climate Adaptation (SIGRA) Project is a five-year partnership initiative between Cowater Ghana and the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development (MLGDRD), aimed at supporting partner MMDAs and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) in enhancing climate adaptation investments. The project is funded by the Government of Canada.

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance climate resilience in the Akatsi North District, we are undertaking a rapid climate change assessment to better understand the situation at the local levels. The purpose of this workshop is to engage key stakeholders in identifying and discussing pathways to sustainable climate adaptation in the district.

BizBox Project: Empowering Ghanaian Youth and Entrepreneurs

The Business In A Box (BizBox) Project is a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).This project is to empower young men and women with access to skills development, market opportunities, start-up kits, social networks, and policy support. There was a district sensitization to urge the various youth, artisans, women in agriculture and agri-business and micro, small and medium enterprises to take this opportunity and register.

Akatsi North District Assembly Staff Embark on Clean-Up Exercise In Readiness for the Re-opening of Ave Crocodile Resort.

The staff of the Akatsi North District Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Simon Peter Kofi Ofosu (DCE) and Mad.Rubby Sitsope Besagah (DCD) on Tuesday, March 26 embarked on a massive clean up exercise to sanitize the Ave Crocodile Resort for its re-opening on Wednesday 27th March, 2023.

The leaders were accompanied by the various Heads of Departments and staff of the District Assembly.

In the exercise that lasted approximately three(3) hours, staff were seen busily clearing bushy areas, heaping rubbish, sweeping and doing general cleaning.

The District Chief Executive promised patrons who would be visiting the crocodile resort this Easter a fun packed and exciting adventure.
